Amy Witherow

Amy Witherow portrait

Amy has always loved to draw, paint, and create. She has a BS in Graphic Design and Illustration from SJSU, where she was exposed to various mediums such as gouache, acrylic, and oil painting, drawing, calligraphy, photography, screen and offset printing. She also learned to handle a flat-bed camera and worked for a printing company doing both paste-up and camera work, making halftones, duotones, and posterizations the old fashioned way. For the past 30 years, she has worked in publications.

Amy learned to sew in high school and then tailor her own jackets and pants so clothes would fit.

She didn't discover quilting until recently, but loves the interplay between art, fabric, and the craft of putting it all together. Her first quilt won a second place award for adult beginners at the Taste of Morgan Hill quilt show.
